Free IP Lookup Tool

An IP lookup estimates the geographic region and network behind a public IPv4 or IPv6 address. Check location, ISP, organization, ASN, timezone, coordinates, and reverse hostname without creating an account.

Lookup input

Find an IP address

Enter a public IPv4 or IPv6 address. Private and reserved ranges are rejected before any provider request.

IP geolocation is an estimate based on network registration and routing. It cannot reveal a precise home or device location.

How to use the IP lookup tool

  1. 1Enter an addressPaste a public IPv4 or IPv6 address, or choose Look up my IP to use the address presented by your connection.
  2. 2Run the lookupThe tool validates the address and rejects private or reserved ranges before requesting public network data.
  3. 3Review the resultCompare approximate location, ISP, organization, ASN, timezone, coordinates, and reverse hostname when available.
  4. 4Copy the addressCopy the normalized IP address for network troubleshooting, documentation, or another diagnostic tool.

Approximate, not precise

Geolocation databases map address blocks to network records and observed routing. They do not provide GPS-level location.

ASN and ISP context

The ASN identifies the autonomous network advertising the route; ISP and organization fields describe its registered operator.

Reserved ranges blocked

Private, loopback, multicast, and documentation ranges are rejected because they have no meaningful public location.

IP lookup FAQ

What is an IP lookup?

An IP lookup matches a public IPv4 or IPv6 address with approximate network-registration and routing data, including country, region, ISP, ASN, and timezone.

How accurate is IP address geolocation?

Country-level results are usually more reliable than city-level results. Mobile networks, VPNs, corporate gateways, and recently reassigned address blocks can make the estimated city inaccurate.

Can an IP address reveal a precise home address?

No. Public IP data may identify an approximate area and network operator, but it does not reveal a precise street address or the identity of an individual subscriber.

Why can’t private IP addresses be looked up?

Addresses such as 10.0.0.1 and 192.168.1.1 are reused inside private networks and are not globally routable, so they do not have meaningful public geolocation data.
