1. Your weekly pool use

Read the percent of your weekly pool from your Cursor usage dashboard, or start from a preset.

Presets are illustrative starting points, not data. They follow Cursor's tier guidance: Premium suits new Agent users, Super daily Agent users, Ultra power users running several agents or Automations.

That is 7.5 Plus units of weekly pool use.

2. What you run

Default token sizes are assumptions to replace with your own. The Cursor-model row sets the list value of your pool use, and its sessions scale when you change pool use above; edit it to match a real week. Third-party rows are billed at API list price from the first request.

3. Estimated monthly cost by plan

Cheapest plan at this usage: Premium, about $62.36 per month, assuming top-ups for overage.

Ultra$200.00$0.00$0.00$200.00All of your weekly use

Pool overage is an estimate: it assumes pool draw is proportional to list rate, so each Plus unit of use is worth $9.24/month of Composer 2.5 list value at your inputs. Cursor does not publish the pool's dollar size. Totals assume prepaid top-ups; requests are never downgraded.

Upgrade break-even

  • Plus → Premium: upgrading pays off above 338% of Plus's weekly pool.
  • Premium → Super: upgrading pays off above 289% of Premium's weekly pool.
  • Super → Ultra: upgrading pays off above 172% of Super's weekly pool.

Legacy Cursor plans: Pro, Pro+ and Ultra

Legacy plans keep working, and switching to the new plans is optional and permanent. Legacy plans have two monthly pools, Cursor Models and Other Models, so third-party models are included through Other Models on Pro, Pro+, Ultra and Teams. Extra usage is on-demand, billed monthly in arrears and off by default on individual plans. Max Mode exists only on legacy request-based plans, at API rate plus 20%. Cursor does not publish the pool sizes in dollars; Pro+ and Ultra include more of each pool than Pro.

Reasons to stay on a legacy plan

Claude, GPT and Gemini usage comes out of the included Other Models pool. On the new plans those models cost API list price from the first request, and on Plus they are not available at all.

Before you switch

Switching is permanent. Cursor says each new paid plan includes at least twice the Cursor-model usage of the legacy plan it replaces, but it drops the included third-party allowance. Compare your recent legacy bills with this calculator's estimate for the mapped plan (Pro to Premium, Pro+ to Super), and note that the new pools reset weekly, not monthly.

Cursor vs Copilot, Devin Desktop, Claude and Codex pricing

These vendors do not publish quotas in a shared unit (Copilot credits, for example, vary by model and task), so this table compares list prices and published allowances rather than predicting a bill.

Ways to cut your Cursor cost

Default to Composer 2.5

Composer 2.5 lists at $0.50 input and $2.50 output per 1M tokens, versus $2 and $6 for Grok 4.7. The Fast variants cost more: Composer 2.5 Fast is $3 and $15.

Lean on cache reads

Cached input is far cheaper than fresh input: $0.20 vs $0.50 per 1M on Composer 2.5, and $0.10 vs $2 on Claude Sonnet 5.5. A higher share of input served from cache lowers every row.

Use Cost mode

Cost mode draws from your weekly pool, and the Cursor Token Rate is not applied to it on Teams and Enterprise.

Set a monthly additional usage limit

The limit caps what top-ups can spend, and waiting for the weekly reset costs nothing.

Methodology and limits

  1. Enter your pool use. Pick a reference plan and the percent of its weekly pool you use from your Cursor usage dashboard, or start from the Light, Daily or Heavy preset.
  2. Describe your model mix. Choose your main Cursor model and add up to five third-party model rows with sessions per week and tokens per session.
  3. Compare plans. Read the estimated monthly total for each plan, the cheapest plan, the upgrade break-even and the Teams estimate.
  • Pool use U is measured in Plus units: percent of the reference plan's weekly pool times its multiple (Plus 1x, Premium 4x, Super 15x, Ultra 50x).
  • Row cost per week = sessions × (uncached input × input rate + cached input × cache-read rate + output × output rate) ÷ 1,000,000. Monthly = weekly × 52 ÷ 12.
  • Cursor does not publish the pool's dollar size. Overage is an estimate that assumes pool draw is proportional to list rate: each Plus unit is worth your Cursor-model row's monthly list value ÷ U. Changing pool use rescales that row's sessions so this value stays fixed; editing the row recalibrates it.
  • Third-party models cost API list price from the first request on Premium and above. Teams and Enterprise add $0.25 per 1M tokens on eligible models; Claude Haiku 5.5, Gemini 3.8 Flash and GPT-5.6 Luna are excluded.
  • Long-context surcharges and cache writes are not modeled. Regional data residency adds 10% on eligible models and is not included. Prices exclude tax.
  • Free shows "Limited, no published amount" and is only the cheapest plan when all usage is zero. Money is rounded to the cent for display only.

Cursor pricing FAQ

How much does Cursor cost per month?

Cursor Free is $0. Plus is $8 per month ($80 per year), Premium $30 ($300 per year), Super $100 ($1,000 per year) and Ultra $200 ($2,000 per year). Teams seats cost $30, $100 or $200 per seat per month, matching Premium, Super or Ultra usage, and Enterprise is custom. Prices exclude tax, and usage beyond the weekly pool is paid from prepaid credit.

What is the difference between Cursor Pro and Ultra?

Pro is a legacy plan at $20 per month and legacy Ultra is $200 per month; Ultra includes more of each monthly pool than Pro, but Cursor does not publish the pool sizes in dollars. On the current plans, Premium ($30) has 4x the Plus weekly pool and Ultra ($200) has 50x, and Ultra adds earliest access.

What happens when I run out of Cursor usage?

On the current plans you can wait for the weekly pool reset, pay from prepaid credit (top-ups or Auto Top-up) at per-model rates, or upgrade. A monthly additional usage limit caps paid usage, and requests are never downgraded in quality or speed. On legacy plans, extra usage is on-demand and billed monthly in arrears; Hobby and Start pause until the reset.

Are Claude and GPT included in Cursor plans?

On the current plans, third-party models such as Claude, GPT and Gemini are not in the weekly pool. They are available on Premium, Super and Ultra at API list price from the first request, paid from prepaid credit, and are not available on Free or Plus. Teams and Enterprise add a $0.25 per million token Cursor Token Rate on eligible models. Legacy Pro, Pro+, Ultra and Teams include them through the Other Models pool.

Is Cursor Pro still available?

Pro is now a legacy plan. Existing subscribers keep it, and switching to the new plans is optional and permanent. New customers start on the new plans, where Cursor maps Pro to Premium at $30 per month.
